MEMORABLE MOMENTS

A representative from DAPM attended a seminar on North Indian Folk Percussion at PERCUSSIVE ART CENTRE, Bangalore.
International Seminar on “Influence of Indian Classical Music on World Music” involving international artistes from U.S.A., JAPAN in 2008.
Along with RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY, a certified crash course for 10 days with artistes from abroad, was invited by D.A.P.M. and was acknowledged by the same university in 2008.
A Three Day Seminar arranged in collaboration with JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY on Musicologists and Musicians such as Daniel Neuman, Professor, Ethnomusicology (UCLA); Kedarnath Awati (Pune film Institute); Pandit. Nayan Ghosh (eminent Tabla Player); Swapan Chakraborty (Curator, National Library, Kolkata) attended as speakers and performers in 2015.

In 2020, on the 15th of August, on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day in India, Dhwani Academy paid tribute through an online musical presentation titled “SALUTE TO MOTHERLAND“, featuring performances by Dhwani students from India and the USA, along with students from Kolkata Sitara School in New York.
Dhwani presented AARHUS JAZZ ORCHESTRA from Denmark, with Pt. Abhijit Banerjee and Vidushi Kala Ramnath, in collaboration with the Calcutta School of Music in Kolkata.
Lecture demonstrations by Dr. N. Rajam, Dhrupad singer Pt. Uday Bhawalkar, and Shehnai player Sanjeev Shankar and party were organized in collaboration with the educational institute NSHM Knowledge Campus, especially for the Danish JAZZ Team led by Lars Moller.
In 2012, on the 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, Dhwani Academy presented a unique production titled “Rabindranath in Balinese Outset – CHITRANGADA, a Dance Production,” involving artists from Bali, Indonesia, and Diksha Manjari, Kolkata, in collaboration with ICCR.

Producing the first Video Album “BANDHAN” with Pt. Bhawani Sankar and Pt. Abhijit Banerjee.
On its 10th year, in 2011, published Braille Book on Tabla for Visually Challenged Tabla Students, as a part of “INNERSIGHT” Project.
In 2021, Dhwani Academy launched its own online platform tvdhwani.com

During Amphan & Pandemic situation, Dhwani came forward with Relief Services and distributed food-packets and some essential supplies to almost 1000 local people, who were severely hit during that challenging situation.
In 2023, Dhwani started Guru Purnima celebration.
