SAAZ AUR AWAZ – An Exclusive Percussion Festival

     Dhwani Academy of Percussion Music Initiated Saaz Aur Awaz – a unique concept, a concert with Indian Classical Music, with a dedicated day for Percussion on different genres of music, in memory of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh for last 14 years. Renowned and recognized artistes from Indian classical music have performed in these festivals such as Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Pt. Ulhas Kasalkar, Pt. Rahul Sharma, Pt. Kumar Bose, Pt. Bhajan Sopori, Vidushi Kala Ramnath, Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee, Pt. Ronu Majumdar, Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Pt. Kushal Das and many more, along with the young and upcoming music aspirants, in a house full of music-lovers and connoisseurs.

     The Academy, as its beneficent agenda, also presents Visually Impaired music students, who are Scholarship-holders, along with their ensemble performance on Tabla.

     The festival features Percussions from different genres – Folk, Indian Classical, different Art Form, from different states and Crossover Music, making it one of the iconic events of the city.

     The noted places where the Academy has been running this project for last few years are Calcutta Club; G.D. Birla Sabhaghar; The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark; Uttam Mancha; Sarat Sadan, Behala; to name a few.
